Accessibility
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) sets rules to help make websites accessible to everyone. Our website follows these rules, but here are some tips to make it even easier for you to use:
- Ease of access
- Adjusting your computer
- Using keyboard shortcuts
- Useful links
Ease of access
- Each page has a Sitemap link (in the Footer) which lists all the pages on the website.
- You can use the keyboard to access all pages of this site.
- Each image has alternative text which describes the image.
- You can change the text size:
- In Internet Explorer: Tools Menu / Zoom / Zoom in or Zoom out
- In Google Chrome: Menu / use + & – beside Zoom
- In Firefox: Menu / use + & – at top of block
- In Safari: View / Zoom In or Zoom Out or View / Zoom Text Only / Zoom In or Zoom Out
Moving around the site
- Main Menu Bar: Use the main menu bar at the top to get to the main sections of the site.
- Drop-Down Menus: You can explore each section using the drop-down menus on the main menu bar or from each section's landing page.
- Sitemap: Find a list of all the pages on the website at the bottom of the page (Footer).
- Search: Use the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page to search for what you need.
- Home Page: Click on the Citizens Advice Oxford logo to return to the home page.
- Legal Information Links: Look for links to legal information at the bottom of the page (Footer).
How to Resize Our Website
- Flexible Layout: You can change the size of our website by dragging its edges. This makes the website fit the shape and size you want.
- Full Screen View: If your screen is in full view, click the ‘Restore down’ button at the top right of your window to see the edges.
- Resizing: Move your mouse over the edges of the window until you see two arrows. Then, drag the edges (top, bottom, and sides) to make the window the size you want.
- Resizing Across Apps: You can resize windows like this in other applications too, though not all content may adjust. When you come back to our website, it will remember the size and shape you chose last time.
